Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)

Alongside Ecological Impact Assessment, Windrush Ecology also undertakes Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments using the Statutory Biodiversity Metric. We have an in-depth knowledge of the Metric and how it works and have inhouse expertise in GIS mapping of habitats.

As of February 2024, legislation in England means that most developments (unless exempt) must achieve Biodiversity Net Gain of at least 10%. Our ecologists can help you through the BNG process, and can identify how best to achieve BNG on-site, off-site or through biodiversity offsetting.
