Ecological Sectors

We work with a range of different sectors including individuals seeking planning permission, planning consultants, architects and local authorities.

Ecology has become increasingly important when applying for planning permission. Windrush Ecology can help with Ecological Scoping, or more detailed Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA). We are also able to advise on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) at an early stage.

Planning Consultants & Architects photo

Close connection and communication with planning consultants and architects is one of our key skills, ensuring smooth project management and successful outcomes. We are proud of our personal and professional relationships within this sector.

Historic Buildings & Landscapes photo

We are proud of our involvement with historic buildings and landscapes and have worked with some of the larger estates and landowners in south-central England. Our projects have included multiple listed buildings including manor houses, tithe barns, churches and cathedrals.

Renewable Energy & Infrastructure photo

Our projects in the renewable energy sector include solar farms, onshore wind farms, cabling and battery storage facilities. We offer support through Ecological Impact Assessment as well as advice on Biodiversity Net Gain and habitat management.

Minerals & Waste photo

Minerals & Waste projects are often large and complex with a number of ecological constraints, but also very significant opportunities. We work closely with minerals & waste consultants to ensure that all relevant ecological surveys are undertaken and that timescales are met.

Residential & Commercial photo

As with many ecological consultancies, residential & commercial developments are a large body of our work. We are known for a proportionate, pragmatic approach, helping clients meet planning and legal requirements while achieving positive outcomes for biodiversity.
