Kingham, Oxfordshire - Preliminary Roost Assessment
What Windrush Ecology did
A preliminary bat roost assessment of a Cotswold stone barn at a farm close to the village of Kingham in Oxfordshire. A neighbouring barnhad previously been surveyed for bats and was found to have roosts of soprano pipistrelle, brown long-eared bats and Natterer's bats.
The aims of this preliminary survey were to assess the potential of the barn to offer shelter to roosting bats and to look for any evidence of bats such as bat droppings, feeding remains or obvious roost sites.
Windrush Ecology specialises in listed and historic buildings, particularly where bat surveys are required. Our bases in Witney and Wallingford mean that we can provide a cost effective and good quality service throughout Oxfordshire and into the neighbouring counties of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
One of our most recent projects involved there-roofing and renovation of an 17th Century cottage in West Berkshire. This involved undertaking a building inspection, preliminary roost assessment and subsequent bat emergence survey of a property in Hampstead Norreys, Berkshire.
