Renewable Energy

Solar Farms Windfarm Ecology

Renewable energy projects have recently grown to form a significant part of our portfolio and include solar farms, hydroelectric power, single wind turbines and micro-turbines.

These different forms of renewable energy come with unique ecological issues such as impacts on bats, birds and other species and direct impacts on valuable habitats such as grasslands, wetlands and watercourses.

Our ecological consultants closely follow the emerging ecological guidance with regard to renewable energy, such as Natural England’s Technical Information Note TIN051 on bats and onshore wind turbines, to provide our clients with the best possible service.

Recent projects include solar farms in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, as well as bat surveys for a proposed wind farm on the Isle of Wight.
