Ecological Research

Research is at the heart of Windrush Ecology’s ecological services. We believe that good consultancy relies on a strong theoretical knowledge and a sound research background; something that our ecological consultants have a good grounding in. We pursue research opportunities both in the UK and abroad, with a particular focus on insect biodiversity, renewable energy and the enhancement of biodiversity through innovative design within architecture and green infrastructure.

Since working on a number of solar farm projects, we are in the process of developing a research project into the impact of solar farms on skylarks and other ground nesting birds. The project will also look at the effect of solar farms on botanical species diversity within grassland swards beneath photo-voltaic panels.
